This shows the movements of the American forces under Colonel Samuel Griffin against the British and Hessian units at Petticoat Bridge and nearby Black Horse (Columbus). There were a dozen members of the 42nd Regiment of Foot at the bridge. Captain Johann Ewald was positioned west at the Bunting House. Map by Adam E. Zielinski.

This shows the actions of Colonel Carl von Donop's brigade as it entered Mount Holly on the late morning of December 23, 1776. Von Donop first divided his forces to envelope the Americans on the Mount. Overwhelmed, the militia retreated down High Street. A second position south of the Rancocas Creek at Iron Works Hill was temporarily defended. Map by Adam E. Zielinski.

A full scale depiction of the combined movements on December 22-23, 1776. Map by Adam E. Zielinski.
